Clubs & Programs

As outlined the RES Student handbook. Rutland students will be given permission slips with detailed information about each of the clubs and parents must sign up for them to be involved

Rutland Singers

To provide an extra-curricular opportunity for musical expression and education.  To provide advanced choral experience. Students will audition.  (Grades 3-5)

$20 fee for accompanist & performance expenses, not including pants & shoes

Rutland Runners

To provide students an opportunity to challenge themselves as runners and be part of a supportive community as they develop fitness. The Club will be open to all grades, with a set, limited number from each grade level, and will meet in the Spring to prepare for the Wilson County Kids "Marathon". Any student who joins Run Club must pre-register for participation in the Marathon to provide a goal to work towards during Run Club meetings.

Fellowship of Christian Students

To provide an opportunity to pray, read the Bible, and share a common faith in Jesus. (Grades 3-5)

To provide students the opportunity to learn the game of chess and play various student and adult opponents.  (Grades 3-5)

Book Club

To provide an extracurricular opportunity for students to share their love of reading and connect with peers through shared book interests.  (Grades K-1)

Green Team Club

Create opportunities for club members to lead recycling, education and clean up efforts at Rutland to be better stewards of the Earth. (Grades 3-5)

Student Council

To provide leadership opportunities such as organizing student activities, community projects, and sharing student ideas and concerns with teachers and admin.  This group will be elected to serve on the council. (Grades 3-5)

Rocket Stars

To empower students through a safe, nurturing theater experience, to build life skills with teamwork, creative problem solving, public speaking, risk taking and tolerance while enhancing self-awareness and self-esteem.  (Grades 3-5)

$50 costume fee, not including shoes & undergarments

Kapow! Club

To cultivate the love of reading through the exploration of age-appropriate visual, sequential storytelling.  Students will learn about, read, analyze, and create various mediums used to tell a story.. (Grades 3-5)

Rockets Dance Club

To provide students with a creative outlet that promotes physical activity, confidence, teamwork, and includes performance opportunities.  Dance is a positive way for students to express themselves, build social skills, and develop discipline in a fun and supportive environment.  (Grades TBD)

Rocket Game Club

To give students the opportunity to play board games and card games with peers while utilizing math and reading skills, developing mental strategies, and practicing social skills.  (Grades 4-5)

To give students the opportunities to partner with a buddy that could use some supports during specific classroom activities and designated field trips/events.  (Grades TBD)

Super Power Club

To spark student curiosity and learning about how energy makes everything go, from our favorite toys to lights in the classroom.  Students will brainstorm ideas to make our school more energy efficient and turn it into a mission.  They will work with our sponsor, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), in accomplishing the mission.  (Grades 3-5)

Robotics Club

To make learning about technology an adventure!  Our goal is to spark imagination and boost creativity through exciting hands-on challenges in the world of robotics.  Students will be developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they design, build, and bring their innovative ideas to life.  This will be an epic journey of discovery and invention!  (Grades 4-5)
